Meet the Art Teacher – Mrs. Janae Unruh

Hello! My name is Janae Unruh, and I’m thrilled to be the new art teacher this year. I’m passionate about all forms of art and incredibly excited to share that passion with students across all grade levels.

Art has always been a big part of my life. Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of artistic mediums including quilting, pottery, watercolor, graphic design, and various other crafts. This hands-on experience allows me to bring a creative and well-rounded approach to the classroom.

I’m deeply committed to nurturing young imaginations and helping students discover the joy of self-expression through art. My goal this year is to make art a highlight of your child’s week—something they look forward to with excitement and curiosity.

Throughout the year, we’ll dive into a variety of projects including pottery, painting, drawing, paper art, mosaics, and more. We’ll also explore important art concepts such as color theory, and how to use tints and shades effectively. In addition, each month we’ll learn about a famous artist and create a project inspired by their unique style and techniques.

I can't wait to get started and share my love of art with all of our amazing students. It’s going to be a fun, creative, and inspiring year!
