Mrs. Lynna Butler
Hello! My name is Lynna Butler, and I have been teaching for 16 years. I grew up in Eastern Oregon, and knew at a very young age I wanted to become a teacher! After graduating from Eastern Oregon University, I began my search for a teaching job. I ended up moving to Idaho for a job at Sacajawea Elementary in the Caldwell School District. There, I was a 3rd grade teacher for 6 years. I then was hired as a 4th grade teacher at Mill Creek Elementary. It was a goal of mine to teach in this wonderful community that my children would be growing up in. While at Mill Creek, I've taught 3rd, 4th, and served the Title 1 population grades K-5 for two years. Being back in the 4th grade classroom makes me so happy!
Currently, I am serving as the Team Lead for the building RtI team. I love being a part of this team because it is the data collection team for students that are struggling. I enjoy helping teachers find interventions that are working for students to hopefully close the achievement gap for students. I am also a mentor to new teachers as a way to give back to my chosen career! I truly believe I have the BEST job, and love helping to support new teachers touch the lives of students everyday.
I have an amazing family behind me too! My husband Steve and I are enjoying watching our two daughters grow up! With two girls, there are lots of recitals, softball games, and puppet shows that happen at our house. It is great entertainment! We love our Idaho life!
