Hello all! I am so excited to be your student's 2nd grade teacher! My name is Mickena Byington and I joined the 2nd grade team at Mill Creek in May of 2022. I am eager to learn and grow with your child! I had the privilege of working with the amazing first and fourth grade times here at Mill Creek prior to officially starting my teaching career. I attended college at Idaho State University where I graduated with a bachelor's in Elementary Education with and emphasis in mathematics. I chose to emphasis in math because it was always a struggle for me but I enjoyed the "Light Bulb" moments so much. I have always known I wanted to work with children, and after thinking back to all the amazing teachers I experienced growing up I knew I wanted to make a difference in children's lives. I am overjoyed to be here in Mill Creek. We are going to have an incredible year together!

Here is a little more about me! I am happily married! In my free time I like to go to the lake, camping, ride dirt bikes, and spend time with family. If there is ever a free weekend you can find us up in the hills! I moved to Middleton in 2021 but I grew up right across the river. My parents owned and operated a small dairy farm seven miles outside of Nyssa Oregon. I participated in 4-H, FFA, and all sorts of sports growing up. Middleton was a little smaller when I played soccer out here, but I still love the town!
