Mrs. Nikki Fernandes

Hello MCE Families!

My name is Nikki Fernandes, the 2023-24 school year will be my first year with this amazing community.  I am very excited to work for Middleton School District and to contribute to what makes this town such a special place to live.

My goal is to be known and seen by our MCE students daily.  Teaching social-emotional skills at the elementary level is my passion and I can't wait to help our kiddos grow in their relationships and communication skills.

A little bit about myself ...

I spent the last two school years working at West Canyon Elementary in the Vallivue School District, but my educational background goes far beyond that.

I received my BA in political science from Whittier College in 2009 with plans for attending law school.  However, I found myself working for the elementary school on campus as my work-study assignment and I very quickly realized that my heart was set on teaching.  Immediately after I graduated, I began a Fellowship for Broadoaks Children's School.  Upon finishing my fellowship and my Masters in Education in 2010, I found a job teaching high school until 2021 when we moved to Idaho.

I attended Concordia University Irvine from 2018-2021 where I worked on my Counseling (PPS) certificate and master's degree.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our two kiddos.  We love sports, camping, and being outside!
