Mrs. Pamela Gibba
My name is Pam Gibba and I currently teach Math 8 part time here at Middleton Middle School. The 2017-2018 marks my 20th year in education. I started my career in 1996 as an elementary teacher’s aide in California. I did this while attending college at CSU Los Angeles where I received a BA in Geography and a K-8 teaching credential. I also was given the opportunity to teach for a little over a year at CSU Los Angeles as a teaching associate while working on my courses. I taught Earth Science 101 to college students working on teaching credentials.
Starting in 2002, I taught upper elementary (4th and 5th grade) with a focus on science. During this time I wore many hats including serving on school leadership, running an after school program for gifted students, and producing our school yearbook. Due to my enthusiasm, I received an award for teacher of the year while teaching 5th grade at Mayflower Elementary in California.
In 2010, my husband and I decided it was time for a change and we made a huge move to Idaho. During that year, I was hired to teach a pull out intervention class at Middleton Middle School which led to a full time teaching position. For the next five years, I had the privilege of teaching math and science in our middle school’s alternative program. This is a job I truly loved because I was able to reach students who had been very unsuccessful in the past and was able to get them back on track for their future. I believe this is my overriding philosophy in education – all students can be successful. All kids benefit from a clean slate and a teacher who believes in them!
In October 2014, our spirited son Wesley was born. He is the joy of my life and makes our days very interesting! I feel truly blessed that Middleton has allowed me the chance to work part time so I can spend some more time with my son in these early years.
I look forward to a GREAT school year!
