I started my teaching career in the Middleton School District in 2001. I received my teaching degree from Regis University Denver, Colorado. I am originally from Phoenix Arizona where I met my husband. We have made Idaho our home for the past sixteen years. At home I spend my free time caring for my garden and collecting free range eggs from my pet chickens and walking my dogs Chubosco and Abby. Some of my other hobbies include golfing, snow skiing and travel.
Ask anyone what my biggest joy in life is and they will tell you it is my love of teaching! I believe in project based learning whenever possible in order to engage my learners. Whether it's making a quilt of the Oregon Trail or creating a digital presentation to showcase standards met for language arts. The end result is powerful and creates a sense of pride and accomplishment. When a classroom becomes a palette for learning it is a beautiful thing. My favorite quote is from teacher and astronaut, Christa McCaulliffe it sums up why I love what I do...."I touch the future I teach."
